Business/Technical Process Architecting, Modeling, Simulation and
Capacity Management
Manage, model and simulate known corporate Web environments -- to forecast system load and potential bottlenecks. (details)
Architect, model and simulate proposed, mid-level business process environments -- based on stochastic performance estimates from similar, existing business processes; analyze to estimate new labor resource needs and related support costs. (details)
Model, simulate and analyze known team environments with complex member interactions and job types; optimize resource levels based on current and projected job resource costs, and estimated job wait costs. (details)
Systems/Operations/Project Management
Manage corporate Web strategic and tactical operations, including annual business plan and budget development, and metric tracking (including throughput analysis and followup system design/redesign). (details)
Oversee daily Web site operational activities with specific attention to client and customer satisfaction, content creation, site design, secure data access, overall domain security, Web mashups, near real-time (real world) Web applications and site maintenance. (details)
Communicate corporate Web strategy between a Web Steering Committee and implementation teams, and collaborate with business leaders to prioritize, approve and assign resources to Web projects. (details)
Technical Application Development (Java, Smalltalk, C++, C, Fortran)
Hands-on, secure intranet application development to facilitate employee Web access of personal information. Used as a model for other corporate, secure intranet development. (details)
Hands-on multi-user, integrated information management user interface application development that tied together automated/manual document scanning stations and queued, background document processing -- with short and long-term information storage and database analysis. (details)
Extensive hands-on, generic Web site development (e.g. for geneaology).
Document/Information Capturing, Application Development &
Management (details)
Develop the architecture and selected components of, and manage the implementation of, a multi-user software system that accomplishes and coordinates the scanning, OCRing, filtering, verification, storing and retrieval of paper, microfilm and microfiche -based information.
Develop the architecture and implement a desktop-based full-text retrieval system for information in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) manuals.
Architect and implement software to scan and systematically store line drawing work sheets on CD-ROMs. For on-demand remote retrieval, review and printing.
Structural Design/Analysis & Application Development (see sample publications, below)
Manage corporate-level Integrated Design / Analysis Technology research and development project, working with visionaries to collect/analyze engineering strategies and translate them into software/hardware/labor system requirements.
Two and three-dimensional structural finite element analyses of intricate thin shell / thick plate structures for domestic and international clients -- including structures with isotropic and orthotropic material properties, and structures that undergo large displacements (e.g. bifurcation buckling) .
Develop interactive, graphical, procedure-driven finite element modeling and post-processing system software, distributed nationally by a large computer service bureau (ref. 1).
Develop interactive, graphical finite element contour plotting system, with three dimensional presentation -- including contours on cuts through solid models, hidden line removal, contour annotation and perspective presentation projections.
Research local (a-posteriori) finite element error measurement techniques; develop a thin shell error measure, and implement techniques for predicting the accuracy of thin shell finite element models (ref. 2).
